How to Make Your First Posting

If your friends are on Festi- you can select who can see your event.  No friends on Festi yet? No problem, after you post, just send a link to friends by clicking on the share button.

Here is what we recommend:

  • 1) post your first event as public so people can see it. Select manually accept booking to control who comes; 
  •  2)  After posting, you can send a link to friends not on Festi with the "share button". Anyone with the link can book.

We're all about being flexible and private. 

 After posting, you can edit, close or cancel 

(click on update status).

If no one books, no one knows. 

What To Expect After Booking

The host has 24 hrs to confirm your booking before it expires.  

Check your Inbox.

Once your booking is confirmed, then ...

  • the event is on your calendar (allow calendar access).
  • address shown with directions.
  • see the other attending guests. 
  • you can cancel your booking. 


How to Post an Event

tap on "+"


Click on the "+" plus sign to:

 1) post a new event; 

2) post a saved draft; or

 3) repost a past event.

Private means only selected friends can see your event. 

Public means Festi users can see it. 

We'll notify your followers about your event.

Manual You'll receive booking requests. Accept within 24 hours before it expires. 

Automatic means we'll accept all booking requests until max # of guest is reached. 

Check your guest list to see who's attending.

After you post you can share a link to send to your friends to book. This is for all your friends not on Festi.

past events


Past events are saved.  Go to your past events page to repost so you can get together with the same group again. You always have the option to add or delete people from your list before posting.

After each event, all attending guests get to "like" and comment on your event. Click on profile picture to see likes and reviews.

Post your event instead of inviting people. Avoid the "maybes", constant changes and rejections. If you need to share an event, just click on the share icon. If no one books, no one knows.

Things happen. You can cancel your event at anytime. Just click on "update status" if you're the host. We'll notify everyone, issue refunds if there is a payment, and hide the event so no one can see it.  If you're the guest hit "cancel" booking".

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see all events?

No. You only see what your friends allow you to see, under "Events Posted by Friends". The more friends you follow the more events you can see. For "Events around you" you see public postings from other users. Please allow location access from your phone to see postings around you. 

What happens after I make a booking request?

Once you make a booking request, the host has 24 hours to confirm your booking and then the request expires and you are free to request again or move on to next booking.

How do I share an event with friends?

There are 2 ways to share: 1) If you have followers, you can post on Festi for selected followers to see (that is the best way); or 2) If your friend is not on Festi, after you post, a link is created for you to send to friends to book. To share, click on the share icon under your posted events and send the link by text, email, facebook, whats app etc..

Can I see who else is attending the event?

Only after your booking is confirmed.  Once your booking is confirmed, it will appear under “Your Reservation”  and "Your Upcoming Events" page where you can access all details including name of all attending guests.  However, before booking you get to see the size of the gathering 0-5, 5+ or 10+ so you have an idea if it's going to be a small or large group.

How do I follow/ unfollow people?

Click on Your Friends. You can search by name, school, or any information people provide in their profile (ie: fishing, baseball, musician, cook, etc...) to find friends. Follow anybody you want to receive notifications of events. You can "unfollow" and remove followers at anytime. Go to "..." top right corner of profile page. 

Can I create groups so I can post to certain groups?

You can re-post a past event which has everything saved, including your group list for that event. So go ahead and create a group for an event, you can access that event with the same group of people next time and re-post. Every thing is saved under Past Events.  

Posting questions

Who sees my postings?

You decide. Public means everyone around you can see it.  For private postings, your selected followers can see your event. Festi will send a notification to make sure they don't miss it.

 For anyone who is not on Festi, you can send them a link to see and book, after you post.   

What is "accept booking manually" or "automatic"?

After you post an event, you will get booking requests. You can accept each booking request (manually) or you can let Festi accept all bookings automatically. If you want to pick and choose who gets to come, choose "manual". If you don't want to be bothered choose "automatic". For automatic booking, Festi will not bother you with notifications of bookings, you can check who booked under view guests. 

After posting an event, what happens?

You will receive booking requests in your "Inbox" and you must accept within 24 hours or it will expire.  You can also choose to accept people automatically, then every booking will be accepted until the maximum guest is reached. You set your own maximum guest. 

How do I update and edit my posting?

You can edit from “Your Posting” page and click on the crayon icon.  If you have a paid event and someone booked, you can not edit the time or location because the guest relied on that information when booking. You can message all your guests regarding any changes. 

Can I close or cancel an event after posting?

Yes and yes. Click on "Update Status". Once you accepted all the people you want, close the event as "full". Your confirmed guests will receive notice and a full refund if you cancel. Note: After your event is closed, you can re-open the event to accept additional guests. However, once your event is cancelled, you cannot re-open that event. 

How can share my event with other friends (they don't want the app) ?

You can send them a link to book your event by text, email, whatsapp etc... Go to Your Posted Events and tap on the Share icon top right corner. Send away to as many friends as you want! As long as they have the link to your event, they can book.

Payment, fees and refund policies

When do I get charged?

Free events are free with no fee. As a guest, if there is a cost, your credit card is charged only after your booking request is accepted. 

When do I get paid?

As a host, you receive payments deposited to your bank account, approximately 3 days after the event. The transfer is directly to your account, you do not have to take the extra step to transfer. Transactions are safe, private and secured through Stripe.

Is there a cancellation fee?

No fee for free events. 

If you cancel as a hosts, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel as a guest, the cancellation processing fee is $1.50 for charged events.

What happens if the host cancels?

If the host cancels and you paid, you will receive a full refund.

What are processing and service fees?

Free events have no fees.  For all events with a cost, both the guest and host are charged a fee of  0-5% of the event price. For beta testing we have waived the fee. 

 *For charity fundraisers, Festi refunds host fee after the Give Back form is completed. 

How do I cancel my reservation booking as a guest?

Cancel button is located under “Your Reservation” page.  Refund will depend on the host’s cancellation policy. 

  • Flexible policy will allow refund if cancellation occurs before the event start time. 
  • Strict policy will allow refund if cancellation occurs before 24 hours of the start time of the event. 
  • Non-refundable means no refund available.
